Want to impress your date? Look no further. Vancouver has some great options for an amazing night out. From Michelin-star restaurants to underrated hidden gems, I have selected 6 great establishments that won’t let you down for your special date. It’s time to get your romance on at these amazing Vancouver restaurants:
1. AnnaLena (Kitsilano)
Contemporary Canadian ($$$)
If you are looking for top-notch cuisine and impeccable service, AnnaLena is one of the very best options in town. Although the atmosphere might feel a little casual, the first bite should be enough to convince you that you are in for an elevated dining experience. This Michelin-starred restaurant offers set menus and wine pairing. Advance reservation is recommended.
2. Arike (West end)
Contemporary African ($$$)
If you want to enjoy some creative and perfectly executed dishes, Arike is another incredible option. This Nigerian-inspired restaurant has an intimate setting that allows you to enjoy high-quality cuisine while having an audible discussion, a luxury these days. This vegan-friendly restaurant offers set menus and wine pairing. Advance reservation and payment are required.
3. Maenam (Kitsilano)
Contemporary Thai ($$)
If you like Thai food, Maenam is a no-brainer. On the menu, you will find all sorts of traditional Thai dishes with some innovative twists. They served me one of the best duck dishes I have ever eaten. On top of that, their happy hour lasts until 10 pm, which is an amazing deal! Advance reservation is recommended.
4. Suyo (Mount Pleasant)
Contemporary Peruvian ($$)
Suyo is great if you want to enjoy amazing food in a vibrant setting. Everything is meant to awaken your senses. The dishes are colorful and the place is buzzing with great energy, flavors, and smells. Their cocktails are also absolutely fantastic! Advance reservation is recommended.
5. Published on Main (Mount Pleasant)
Contemporary Canadian ($$$)
Not only was Published on Main awarded a Michelin star this year but it is also ranked number one among Canada’s best 100 restaurants. I would have ranked it higher if they hadn’t drastically increased their prices since getting the star and if it wasn’t so hard to make a reservation. Nevertheless, the food at Published is fantastic. I just found it a little undermined by the service, which doesn’t come close to AnnaLena‘s. Advanced reservation is recommended.
6. Hawksworth (Downtown)
Contemporary Canadian ($$$)
Hawksworth is a staple in Vancouver. It is a bit safe and conventional to my taste, but the food is very good. It is a solid option that may be more suitable for older crowds. Its central location makes it a very convenient option. Advance reservation is recommended.
