If you are craving Italian food other than pizza and pasta, Braceria Delizioso Italia is a great option. This Italian restaurant is located in Ebisu, away from the curious eyes of passersby.
Braceria Delizioso Italia doesn’t quite feel casual, but I wouldn’t call it fancy. It is a great spot for a date or a gathering with friends.
For dinner, they have a few course menus available (3,800 ~ 5,800 yen). However, if like me you are never really satisfied with set menus, you can go à la carte without spending much more.
The Food
Today’s Seafood Appetizer Platter (5 types – 1,800 yen)
The Seafood Platter was on the small side, but if you value quality over quantity, you won’t be disappointed. It was extremely fresh and the slices were as thin as a carpaccio. They put a lot of effort into the seasoning to bring out the best of each type of seafood on the platter. I loved every single bite!
Mushrooms & Truffle Cheese Salad (1,600 yen)
The rucola and cresson leaves were covered with raw mushrooms and truffle cheese. The salad was dressed with just a dash of olive oil. Although it is probably what best complimented the strong taste of the truffle, I found the dressing a little too simple. However, the truffle cheese was divine.
1/2 serving of Four Cheese Pasta (1,800 yen)
The Four Cheese Pasta was just how I expected it to be: rich, cheesy and creamy. At Braceria Delizioso Italia you can choose between 10 different types of pasta when you order a pasta dish. I went with tagliatelle because it is my favorite, and it is not very often served in Japan. The taste of cheese was substantial, thanks especially to the gorgonzola.
Lamb Chops (2,800 yen)
The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection, and the serving was very generous. Quite frankly, I can’t recall ever getting tastier and juicier pieces of lamb anywhere in Tokyo, although L’Amitié‘s were a good contender. This was the highlight of the meal and I would definitely order it again!
Cheese Platter (3 types ~ 2,000 yen)
Last but not least, the cheese platter. Braceria Delizioso Italia doesn’t have a cheese platter in their menu, but they kindly put it together when I asked if they had some. I really appreciated their flexibility, and their cheeses! It was a great ending to this very tasty meal!
The Drinks
I started off with a glass of sparkling wine to go with the Seafood Platter and the Truffle and Cheese Salad. For the rest of the dinner, I enjoyed some Neprica Primitivo 2017. This medium-body wine was rather deep and it paired well with the meat, pasta and cheese.
Overall
Braceria Delizioso Italia ticked all the boxes. The food tasted great, the menu was varied, the wine selection was substantial and the service was quick, but not rushed. I would not say it is a cheap restaurant, yet it is still affordable. It is actually very fairly priced — you get great quality for the price you pay. I also liked the atmosphere so I will definitely go back and try more of their menu as soon as I have the chance!
