Two Rooms Grill Bar is a wonderful above-the-sky restaurant located in Aoyama. It features a wide terrace overlooking the city and an infinity pool that creates a soothing and stylish atmosphere.
The Food
I went there for lunch and had The 246 set. It was their cheaper course, but it was still on the expensive side (2,750 yen). This lunch set included a starter, a main and a tea or coffee, but many options required an extra cost.
Today’s assorted appetizer plate (+500 yen)
My friend had the Assorted Appetizer Plate, which looked absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, these bite-size appetizers were not much to share so I did not try them, but she was absolutely pleased with her choice!
Two Rooms Caesar Salad
I got the Two Rooms Caesar Salad that was one of the only starters that did not require any extra cost. I was generally pleased with it, although I would have appreciated some bacon bits or croutons for more substance. The Caesar dressing was tasty and well balanced, but the romaine leaves were so big it was hard to eat them without making a mess.
Today’s pasta (Tomato, Nuts, Parsley Penne)
My friend ordered pasta, and that time I got to try some. The penne were perfectly cooked and the tomato-based sauce was very flavorful. The nuts brought some nice crunchiness and the parsley was perfect to bring a fresh note to this dish.
Tortilla Wrapped Oregano, Grilled Chicken, Hummus, Pesto, Rocket, Feta Cheese
I went with the Tortilla Wrap because I cannot resist the call of hummus, pesto or feta cheese. I did not expect much from a wrap, but I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was extremely tender, I barely needed to chew it. The wrap was well-seasoned, but I would have not complained if there was more hummus, which may have been overpowered by the flavors of pesto and feta.
Overall
Even though the Two Rooms Grill Bar is on the expensive side, I had a really nice meal. Eating al fresco is a scarce opportunity in Tokyo, so I learned to embrace it. It was the perfect spot for an open air lunch. The service was also very professional and friendly. Two Rooms Grill Bar is definitely a great contender for a special date or gathering.
